OOTD :: March: lots of black with a splash of pink.

Can I just say that I can’t believe it’s April already?

After a colourful and print filled summer of frocks I got to the point where I was in desperate need of some black. Black everything and anything. Just black. I just feel like me when I look more ready to attend a funeral than a carnival.

I also realised this month that I probably have a shopping addiction.

And that I’m super lazy about blow drying my hair the older I get.

And that you can never own too many polka dot print frocks.

Black midi dress. Pockets. Tie waist. Tick, tick, and tick. By Princess Highway via Dangerfield.

Pair a $10 stretchy pencil skirt from Big W with a polka dot cami from Decjuba and I’m so there.

Black maxi skirt from Dangerfield and a raspberry chiffon top from Sportsgirl. Trusty old favourite sandals from Big W.

When it looks like a dress but acts like a longline sleeveless shirt with really high side splits. From Rockmans. Paired with an ancient black denim skirt from Big W.

Ah the whole bra straps on display with an off the shoulder neckline dilemma. Obviously I did not give a single fuck that day. Dress from Kmart.

My most favourite threesome ever: a striped top {Decjuba}, some denim {skirt from Big W}, and converse sneakers.

I could not walk past this polka dot number, another of those “for when I finally get a job” numbers, it is just super super comfy and perfect. From Rockmans.

Funny story about this Leona Edmiston dress. I bought it to wear to my son’s engagement party, then bought another three dresses as back up options. On the day of the party I tried on at least a dozen other outfits before deciding that this one was perfect after all. I nailed my hair and makeup and forgot to take a single photo until I got home that night and took some shocking photos under the worst possible artificial light. The dress is pretty though and I definitely won’t hesitate to wear it again.

And I have to say I’m looking forward to some cooler weather dressing again, although I’m not looking forward to confirming that my jeans are probably a little more snug than they were this time last year…
