OOTD :: lots of leopard love

I don’t know if I’ve just seen waaaay too many episodes of the Real Housewives of New Jersey but I sure do love me some leopard print, always have, even when it was more Peggy Bundy cringe than it girl cool. And over the years I’ve mostly tried to not give in to every leopard printed piece that’s caught my eye, but lately I find myself unable to say no and not at all inclined to even try and talk myself out of it.

From shirt dresses to maxi dresses to shoes to T’s and skirts, it seems like leopard is having a massive moment right now. And while I said no thanks to the seemingly perfect satin pleat midi skirt that actually looked a bit shit, there have been plenty of other items that have lived up to the hype.

Oversized shirt dress from Little Party Dress. I love this and it’s so comfy to wear, but I’m having issues lately with feeling larger than I really am and so the size 14 I bought this in is MASSIVE, but considering it was already being swapped for something else that I sent back I just could not be bothered exchanging it. And for bonus points, it was one of the three dresses I bought using the LPD  birthday voucher that my awesome daughter-in-law gave me.

And for an extra pop of colour and because I was having a bit of a sassy mood that day I paired it with a bright tangerine lip from Nars {Lana} and this chunky necklace from BigW.

But just when I thought I was going overboard liking all the leopard stuff, along came this maxi dress from Decjuba. Her name is Lara and she is my new best friend. Honestly, if they decide to release this in any other print or colour I will buy every single one, it’s just the perfect summer maxi. I’ve worn it with wedges and flats, it will also look great with converse sneakers, and topped with a denim jacket it gives me all the denim and leopard combo feels {see below, but please excuse the blur factor}. It’s very oversized though, I’m wearing a small even though I’m not actually small. {So for the petite girls, this might not quite hit the spot, but if the problem you have is being too small for a size small then I probably don’t have a lot of pity for you}. But for everyone else:

And long live the real housewives of New Jersey and Peg Bundy.
