We’re only two weeks away from beginning our downstairs mini renovations, with the flooring being the biggest change we’ve made to the house in almost two decades of living here. Hot on the heels on the new flooring we have new sofas being delivered, as well as rugs, coffee tables, lamps, and all the pretty little knickknacks that I’ve been admiring and pinning and saving and finally get to add to basket.
There will also be custom cabinetry in the place of our existing entertainment units and Ikea bookshelves, and new curtains and an updated front entry door to finish it all off.
And is it just me or does it all sound exhausting before we’ve even started???
I’m wearing my project managers hat to coordinate everything, but have no doubt that there will definitely be at least one day where we don’t have a sofa to sit on and televisions and various devices will be scattered on the floor.
And to be completely honest I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not that my husband has so much faith in my choices.
So far he’s on board with almost everything I’ve shown him, although I’ll never convince him that we need an emerald green velvet sofa. I have finally learned not to use the word “Hamptons” when describing anything, because while he hates the actual word he seems to like every picture that pops up when I search it.
If you’re interested in following our progress I’m sure there’ll be some oversharing happening on my Instagram!
